Regional Development
In Forth Region we are developing work programmes at group, district and regional level based on the following statement:
Scouting is a world wide, values based, educational movement. Scouting is much more than an activity club for young people.
We believe that Scouting succeeds because it is a:
- growing movement – growth in youth membership balanced across gender, age and ethnicity
- youth movement – led by young leaders, supported by older volunteers and an increased field-based professional staff
- focused movement – with fewer larger and stronger groups and with fewer, more focused campsites
- sound movement – with a strong financial base, both locally and nationally
- relevant movement – with strong public perception socially, politically and commercially
- diverse movement – celebrating and reflecting our diverse communities
There is funding available for development activity at all levels – 2 possible grant givers are:
- The Scottish Development Fund – for more information click here
- The Development Grants Board UK – for more information click here
If you have any queries regarding the above or need assistance in filling in an application form, please contact Ea O’Neill, Assistant Regional Commissioner (Development).
